Continuing my experience through Deas Vail’s new album…
This song… my Lord.
I admit when I was going through the songs, I wasn’t paying attention to the titles.
So I sat there…listening as the ambient guitar started, and this faint echo of a voice came on.
I waited and waited, wondering when the “intro” would end and the lyrics would actually start coming in, when the voice would become clear.It never came.
And then I looked at the title.
My gut. My gut just DROPPED.
That is SO beautiful to me. The entire song leaves you in suspense, as if floating in water, waiting for someone, something, anything. Waiting for the words. Watching the light break the surface in slow motion, hopes for clarity, but never getting any.
It’s like a dream, where nothing is really clear, and nothing really makes sense, but it’s lonely and beautiful and so much like that void you feel when you’re lost and alone.Going through the S&S playlist and came across this one again.
